Can anyone say yes or no to onChange existing? I thought there might be some sort of notification through the layout system. I'm not sure how layout works though, so I really can't say. The underline idea was half because I thought it would be nice to have a way of telling when an inactive tab had changed, and half because I thought it would make it more consistent WRT the mailnews UI. If you don't think it would be a good idea, that's fine...boldface would work pretty well on its own. >> Likewise, bold wouldn't mean "load completed", it would mean "you >> haven't looked at this tab since it started loading". Yes. > If it does, how > about it makes the text normal till load completes then turns it bold > again until the next view? Sounds good. I think it might be a bit confusing, but I'm no usability expert. ;) It would definitely fill the gap left by the lack of underline though, and that's good. I guess underline would then be free to mark the active tab, for those who have trouble picking out the active tab from the inactive ones. >> I suppose a tab's title could flash once or twice to signal that it's >> done loading. Yeah, I was just throwing the flashing title idea out there because there have been a couple of complaints about the spinny arrow in this thread (combined with hopes that my suggestion would make a good replacement, which I don't think it would--it's for a very different purpose). I personally like the spinnyarrow, for what it's worth. I think I'll submit the boldface RFE tomorrow. It's getting a little late tonight (for me at least). I'll post the bug # here. Would you like me to CC you on the bug?
