If you have problems with a particular patch, take it up with Asa or 
myself. We've said before and will say again that there is no-one on the 
project whose job it is to rescue patches that the author(s) aren't 
driving. If you are driving your patch, and not getting anywhere, then 
that's a problem you should be taking up with staff.
