My ISP's NNTP server requires username/password login. I can't find where to enter that info into Thunderbird news reader. I enter password when server requests but am not authenticated because username is not provided and can't be entered as it is in the mail reader properties. Any help would be appreciated.
This is indeed a bit difficult to find:
open the "account settings" for your nntp-account, go to "server settings" and check "Always request authentication when connecting to this server".
