On goals - I have never been able to identify
the goals of the project?  If you can point me
at them I'd greatly appreciate it.

"Trying to provide the best user experience"
is not exactly a goal.  It's too imprecise, subject
to rather different meanings by different people
(for example, this would mean turning on ActiveX
and delivering with Flash, for some people....)
