Hi Christian,
Doh! Sorry about that. So is an XPCOM component an 'add-on'? Am I right
in saying that an add-on and an extension are the same thing? i.e. they
"plug into" mozilla and add new functionality to the browser?

Do you know if there is a similar scheme for XPCOM components as there
is for plugins. That is, a scheme whereby the component can be installed
prior to the browser, but still work with the browser if the browser is
installed later? (obviously without the user knowing or having to do
anything to get the component to work with the newly installed browser).
Thanks,
 Damien
