Yes:

Bit 7,6 of the MPEG frame header:

00 LR Stereo frame        (Stereo, Left + Right Channel, bit balancing possible)
01 MS Stereo frame        (Stereo, Mid- and Side Signal)
10 Dual Channel frame     (Mono, for instance dual language english/german)
11 Single Channel frame   (Mono)

Ist it right that Layer II MS-Frames are unable to NOT use intensity stereo
for f > fs/4 (for CD 11 kHz)?
