O my God. I didn't have the slightest idea that you have to study informatics to be allowed to encode with LAME :)
The only thing I can tell you is, that I didn't compile anything by my own. I just downloaded LAME 3.90 from the net and hoped it might work. I'm having an Intel Pentium III, 550 Mhz and I'm using Win2K. my current encoding settings are "-V0 -b160 -mj --athlower 5 -F" but the cutting seems to happen irrespective of the settings and the front end used. And: Please don't be offended by me telling you this. It's a matter of fact that this happens here and that it only happens with LAME 3.90 and not with any other encoder. And: if you think that I'm just a clueless fool, you may very well just disregard my question. <<i have a strange problem. when i'm encoding with lame 3.90 (using eac as the front end) my internet connection frequently gets cut during the encoding process. anybody knows this problem or has an idea what to do?>> <<I very much doubt this has anything to do with LAME itself. More than likely your network connection [via a software modem, like a linmodem?] is suffering because the cpu is devoted to encoding?>> <<What you are saying sounds very sensible. The strange thing only is: a) it didn't happen with LAME up to 3.88 and b) it doesn't happen with any other encoder How does this fit into your explanation?>> <<What compiler are you using, and are you using any "strange" optimizations? What kernel and motherboard?>> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dan Chen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, December 26, 2001 10:59 AM Subject: Re: [MP3 ENCODER] lame 3.90 cuts my internet connection _______________________________________________ mp3encoder mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://minnie.tuhs.org/mailman/listinfo/mp3encoder
