I don't know. I tested some other programs and they worked, so it may be something in 
the code. But I know it is almost impossible to find and handle
I am downloading 3.92 right now so I could tell tomorrow how it works. (I will work 
this -march=athlon again, I doubt it will help but it works for some other 
programs, povray3.1 for example (it speeds up rendering for about 15% compared to 
-march=pentiumpro))

I don't want to use gcc2.96 (I read something that now it should work even with this 
version of gcc, but I don't believe it very much after I read so much 
about it (mainly from mplayer people) and gcc-3.0.4 is the only other alternative....
