I did it under a Sharp Zaurus SL5600, which is a Linux based PDA. But
its CPU for sure is Xscale. The Lame can be compiled well by cross
compiler, and it also can run. The problem is it takes 5 hours to
encode a 850K .wav file into mp3. (I think it is because of the
computation capability of Xscale CPU.

Dear all,

I would like to know if anyone has recompiled the LAME front end for
use on an HP iPAQ 4150 (Xscale) PDA. I only need a command line
interface, not a GUI, so if this is not possible but there are other
alternatives out there then please let me know.
