To clarify some:

The 5th District/Minneapolis Green Party is hosting three separate endorseing
conventions this winter and spring. This first endorsing convention was host
to an uncontested race (Cam Gordon, Ward 2) and a race with Park & Rec. Board
Commissioner Dean Zimmermann up against an opponent with a much shorter
history of involvement in the Green Party (for Ward 6).

It appears there will be a higher volume of candidates (and probably voting
participants) at the next two events.

There were also (as at any dfl convention) non-voting participants/observers
at this endorsing convention.

This year the 5th District/Minneapolis Green Party has endorsed two viable
municipal candidates with, I have a hunch, more to come.

Is this accurate? 46 votes to endorse a City Council
candidate? And they call this grassroots participation? A DFL Convention
for a single Ward that was this small would be considered a serious flop,
and would lead people to question the legitimacy of the endorsement.
And this was the entire City/Congressional District
Convention? The DFL Convention for the City is expecting 40-50 times that
many people, and will be considering changes like same-year caucusing to
increase participation.
Can a political party survive when it has this few people
participating? If this was my party, I would suggest the party take a
serious look at what they're doing that's making people stay away in droves!
