I've reserved a Mpls Issues List table at the DFL City
Convention on May 5th to 1) help List members make face contact; 2)
attract new members; 3) raise the List's profile among office-holders
and office seekers; 4) have some place to hang out when the business
on the convention floor really drags.

Lynnell, are you paying for this table out of your pocket?
I've heard they
cost $50. Or is the table being provided by the DFL for free?
Nope, I'm doing it out of my own pocket. The List is part of
Minnesota E-Democracy which is a volunteer-based, non-partisan,
non-profit citizen organization. It is not part of the DFL,
Republican, Green or Independence party structures. And I like it
that way, so I forked over the $50. (And for the record, the DFL
don't do nuthin' for free.)
I've ordered a basic vinyl banner that the List can use for
gatherings at parks, coffee shops, Bars That Don't Serve A Nice Dry
Chablis (a la the Viking where we last met. Now that was a real
dive!) and anyone else's political conventions. Take it away. I've
also printed up name-tags via my computer that say "I'm On the
List"--there'll be plenty left-over. Anyone can use those too.
I'm doing this because it sounds like fun and I was going to
the convention anyways. Plus, I've learned a ton from being on this
List, so this is my little volunteer pay-back thing. If any List
member/DFL delegate wants to slip me a few bucks this Saturday, I
accept plain, unmarked bills; also coins, especially quarters for the
pop machines.
I'm writing up a brief info sheet. Any member who wants to
send me a few sentences on Why I'm On the List, please do. I could
use a few blurbs.
Hoping to finally meet some of you on Saturday.

blonde and put in the glass eye although this seems like a hell of a
compromise.)
