I work downtown daily and wander around with impunity. I take a shortcut through the alley behind the old Skyway Theater, I walk down Hennepin and up First Ave. No. I rarely, if ever, feel uncomfortable.

Andy Driscoll stated that the more fearful you appear the more of a target you become. This is certainly true. I haven't done it in a while, but I when I was bored I used to play "spot the suburbanite" and look I'd look for the people who clearly looked like they didn't think they belonged downtown. They do, in fact, stick out like a sore thumb.

Oh, and yes - I've been downtown on Sunday nights. I still rarely feel like there's anything to be overly worried about.

But then, maybe I am one of those who was referred to as "undeseriable" - I can't be sure.
