To Scott Vreeland, I find the innuendo relating to election financing and the Board meeting time to be inappropriate. Last election I saw Police Federation Ballot with Annie Young on it. Does that mean she is beholding to the Police Federation? I don't think so.
I want to be perfectly clear. The Mpls Police Federation never interviewed me, screened me or asked if I wanted their endorsement. It was given to me on a silver platter along with a campaign check. The check was returned along with a letter questioning the process. I was told the sample ballot had already gone to the printer. Believe me - Tony is right on this one. I am not beholden to the Police Federation.
Other than that Tony's ideas of conciliatory amends on the Board are very difficult to address when ethics, open meetings laws and lack of respect for individuals is in the mix. Returning Bob Fine to the leadership position is not in the cards as far as I am concerned. How about a new idea - like someone else being considered for President - there are 8 other option; some good, some not so good but never-the-less other options for solving part of this dilemma.
