I'd just like to add that I've been hearing a lot about taxpayers "subsidizing" people who are riding the buses. Of course the general public is completely oblivious to the massive subsidies they recieve for driving their cars. There's the George Bush SUV Tax Credit, a $35 billion highway bill (just for the next few years), not to mention the fact that the price for gas at the pump is subsidized by several dollars per gallon. I think it's our responsibility to make this known. I'd like to ask for some help in writing letters to the Star Trib and Pioneer Press.
