No one is dragging Ms. Kahn down this path, she took her steps freely and in full command of her faculties. At least Clinton had enough integrity to make a *public* apology. I don't believe that Ms. Kahn has done so, nor has she pledged not to repeat her offence in the future. She didn't even appear in court for her sentencing. What I find so offensive is that she seems to see this as politics as usual, she just got tagged. Ms. Kahn has been in office for what, 27 years? How can we know for how many of those years she has been removing other candidates' campaign literature? What is the probably that this was her one moment of weakness? I think the probability is close to nil. And this is no partisan path. I have no party. I hold all politicians to the same ethical standards. Bush lied (not to mention the prison scandal that Rumsfeld should have resigned for), so I'm voting for Kerry. If you vote for Ms. Kahn I believe that your standards are too low to sustain ethical behavior in government. I said that DFL *COULD* endorse a write-in candidate and they would win. I never said that the DFL *SHOULD* endorse a write-in. I think that they SHOULD ask Ms. Kahn to step down and allow another candidate to serve. In fact, I believe that Ms. Kahn should step down voluntarily for the good of her party. I think that her failure to do so reflects very negatively on all Democrats statewide and is not is not good politics in a crucial election year. AOBB Given Ms. Kahn's harsh criticism of Democrats who voted for Nader, I think that she should reflect on her contribution to the Bush campaign. Michael Atherton Prospect Park REMINDERS: 1.
