"Personally wrong" was the point of the recent nonsense over congress's
rediculous overinvolvement in the Schiavo case. This is about a toxic
substance we are being exposed to and which government's role is to regulate
it and has nothing to do with personal viewpoints. This doesn't mean that
we all don't have our personal opinions but they are NOT what this ban is
about or why it was passed.

It would make life so much easier for all if others did not try to force their life choices on me, especially using the force of the government to do so.

I would have to agree with you, George, but probably not in the way you mean.

Every one has the right to do MOST anything they want. However, as my former social studies teacher used to put it, the right to swing your fist where ever you want ends where my nose begins. Smoking where other people are forced to partake of second hand smoke because they are employed there or came to hear the band or are sitting in a non-smoking section that is poorly ventilated is equivilant to your fist hitting my nose.

Your social studies teacher made a good analogy but not in this case. Smoking in itself is not a crime. No one is "forced" to partake of second hand smoke in a public venue. If one works in a smoky restaurant or bar it is by choice. If one wishes to listen to a band in a smoke filled room or auditorium, it is by choice. However, if one is assaulted by a "fist in the nose" it is NOT by choice and IS a crime punishable by fine or imprisonment.
