be a tad less accurate, but the public profile gains might be worth it.)

During the draft revisions of the Mpls Charter, there was a proposal to change this name to "Board of Finance". This would be a 'snappier' name, and fairly accurately reflect what they do. It would also eliminate misleading stuff from the name. (Currently, the Board gets a lot of calls from people complaining that their taxes are too high, or that their property is assessed wrong -- things that the Board of E&T does not deal with. The main objection to this new name was that it would be quite similar to the City's Department of Finance, and might lead to confusion there.
