Actually, Michael, your facts are a bit off here.
Dividing the US GNP ($11,750,000,000,000) evenly between the US
population(283,000,000) gives an income of $41,519 per person, or over
$297,000 for a family of four.
Hardly "poverty". In fact, well into the middle-class range, I would say.
