Years ago, a strong non-profit woman's group in Minneapolis was very political. 
They
were told by the Legislature, if they continued to be political they would lose 
their
non-profit status and would need to pay taxes. They went back to a community 
mission.

Would this not apply to churches?  If religious organizations wish to be 
political,
sway elections, force agendas;  they too, should lose their non-profit status 
and start paying taxes.
