If a group is right-wing, pro-corporation, pro-war, racist, etc, it can do lots of things and keep tax benefits, and even get money from the government.
If it is left-wing, pro small business and co-ops, for peace aand non-violence, local control, participatory democracy, etc, then you have against it the IRS, FBI, police, national guard, etc. There are lots of examples of this over decades, all over the country. It isn't fair, but it's what you get when a few people with a lot of money make the rules - the *real* rules, not the nice-sounding ones that make us think all is well.
