%I (the UIDL) was intended for use in combination with add_header, so the original UIDL can be kept with the email (thunderbird does that adding a X-UIDL: header) I think it may be useful if the uidl file got corrupted or you are comparing duplicate downloads, although its utility is the less clear. %A (account name) is mainly intended for delivery paths, so you can do > delivery maildir user-emails/%A on the defaults section, and mail automatically goes to the right folder.
