Dennis,
Sorry, 'define + replace' only causes the explicitly modified attributes to
be changed and so will not affect the DefaultQFileSize.

If I would run a script that does a "DEFINE" "REPLACE" would the new
attribute for DefaultQFileSize be picked up or do I have to do a "DELETE"
and then a "DEFINE" ?
Thanks

DefaultQFileSize is a qmgr related parameter and as such should not appear
in qm.ini, not mqs.ini.
When set this parameter overrides the default the maximum queue file size,
and only affects queues created while the override is in effect. When the
queue is created then the attribute is copied into the queue file and in
order to subsequently change the maximum queue size the attribute in the
queue file needs to be changed (or the queue deleted and recreated in which
case the new queue will be recreated with the current DefaultQFileSize
attribute). This allows different queues to be created with different
maximum queue file sizes (albeit in a rather unfriendly way). Hence when
you migrate from 5.0 to 5.2 the maximum queue size won't change unless you
take specific action.
Andy.

Subject: Upgrade from V5.0 to V5.2 (Sun Solaris)
We are upgrading from V5.0 to V5.2 on Sun Solaris. We have set in our
"mqs.ini" file the tuning parameter of "DefaultQFileSize". It is
currently set to 1gb. With V5.2 the default queue size is 2gb.
My question is when we upgrade to V5.2 will our default Queue size
automatically go up to 2gb or will we have to re-create our Queue Managers
(also take out the DefaultQFileSize parameter from mqs.ini file)?
Thanks
