When trying to do a DB backup (non Pub/Sub) it turned out to be too much trouble since
we have the process of recreating the broker down to only a few minutes. Actually it
seemed to cause more problems in the event we did have a problem with the server. I
think it's best just to take good backups of the CM and MRM so you can always recover
no matter what...it only takes a few minutes.

However, for disaster recovery we actually use EMC to take snapshots of all the disks
/var/mqm, /var/mqsi and DB2 then bring the disks up on a server in a DR site. This
works VERY well, all we have to do is issue the start commands once the disks are
mounted.

PUB/SUB is right. I thought there was something else. I cannot remember it
right now OR I am wrong.

doing the XA stuff?? Any input??
