John,

I just completed that 2.1 to 5.3 upgrade and hers what I had to do:

1) locate ALL TSO signon PROCs which have MQ libraries and update them with the
names of the libraries for the v5.3 release of MQ.

2) locate ALL TSO CLISTS which allocate or otherwise specify MQ libraries and
update those CLISTS. In my case our CMDPROC and PROCLIB

3) review the PANEL libraries(ISPPLIBs) and update ALL members which specify MQ
invocations to make sure they point to V5.3.

Option 3.14 (libsrch) was quite useful and my search was made easy by our
dataset naming standards.

The process was straightforward.

                 Subject: MQ 5.3 Upgrade

On December 20th of 2002 there was a thread that discussed people's
experiences of upgrading from 2.1 to 5.3 on the mainframe. One response
given was from Rebecca Bullock who mentioned some general upgrade things to
look at. Thanks Rebecca for your advice. On her point 5 she states:
"Based on what I've seen from other postings on this listserv -- You will
need an additional ISPF library (in the ISPTLIB concatenation) to use the
admin panels. The symptom of leaving this out is that the F4 prompt for
object type on the main panel doesn't work right........"

What is the name of this "additional ISPF library"? We have encountered
this particular problem and need your help.

Thank You,
