Did you hide the MQSeries task bar icon? On the task bar, right click on
the "Websphere MQ" icon and select "Hide" from the menu. That stops
amqmtbrn.exe, and that has been enough to get me over the hump.

Yes, did that but it not help - the files remained locked.
