Automatically resetting sequence numbers without knowing why they are
out of sequence is a bit risky, no?

I've had a RCVR channel be out of sequence with an external partners
SNDR. We knew why our RCVR's # was whack, so we just looked in the error
log and it told us what it was expecting. Then we just reset our RCVR
and the channel was up and running once again without the other side
being involved.

Unfortunately, RQSTR channels don't AdoptNewMCA. So you have to choose
between the ability to restart a remote SDR or having the enhanced
robustness of a RCVR. I've worked at several companies where they not
only test DR failover regularly but have instituted a swing policy.
They run on Instance-A for some period, then swing to Instance-B.
Usually this is weekly or monthly. In these cases, they almost always
use RQSTR channels for that reason but the lack of AdoptNewMCA bites
them once in a great while.
