Recently we upgraded to Windows XP Professional and I had never noticed this
previously running Access2002 under Windows2000:
This is an example of a table I enter data into:
Last First Status
Miller John Retired
Long Mary Retired
Brown Ken Active
Now let's say I enter Smith Larry Active
on the next row, row 4, then go to the next row, row 5.
The fourth row will show what row 3 shows:
Miller John Retired
Long Mary Retired
Brown Ken Active
Brown Ken Active
If I refresh the table by sorting or getting out of it the correct entry
will show:
Miller John Retired
Long Mary Retired
Brown Ken Active
Smith Larry Active
If I don't refresh and enter new data in 10 more rows I will get Brown Ken
Active 10 times, even though the correct entry shows until I go to the next
row. If I go back to the row after leaving it, the incorrect data will stay.
It is not until I refresh that the true entries will show.
What is frustrating is that I asked some people to try this on their
machines and some got the same results I did and some got the true entry to
stay when they went to the next row.
Any suggestions?
For one row this happening is tolerable. But for many rows you are not sure
what you entered unless you refresh. If you refresh by sorting then you have
to go find the entry in a list to see if it is there.
