Stacey-

Using MS Access (mdb) files on a web server is a good idea only for very low
volume websites. Lots of hosting companies offer low-cost web hosting with
either MySQL or MS SQL Server support and FrontPage or .Net extensions. I
host my site on LunarPages: http://www.lunarpages.com/. Yes, you might be
over your head on this if you've never done any web programming.

Subject: [ms_access] Online Database help

Hello! I've been fooling around with Access for several years now, and
seem to do ok, but a client just asked me if I could create a database
that would exist on the web. I've never ventured into this before and
I'm not sure what is involved. I'm down here in New Orleans and the
hurricane scared a lot of people to the web. They want to be able to
access their entire database from anywhere. I've done a few DAP's, but
the database was held on my computer. Where do I need to go to find a
hosting company that can hold a good size database and is very secure?
I think I got myself in over my head on this one, but I don't want to
let them down. Any advice or sources with more info would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you,
Stacey
