It has to be said that it's a known behavior that big scores get
slower. MuseScore is currently designed to make a relayout of the full
score for any edit. AFAIK there is no plan to change this before
the next release. The larger the score, the more elements to relayout
and so the slower. And of course, if the more CPU, the faster...

Nevertheless, it seems that on Windows, relayouting is slower than on
Mac and Linux. We don't know all the causes yet, the little
optimisation we made seems to improve the speed a bit but it's still
slower than on the other platforms.
