I'm doing nearly all my internet access by scripts that get called by a cron job; they perform such tasks as fetching and sending mail and news or downloading files. Previously, you provided a script to download a svn trunk snapshot, which I also used - but the "git" link you gave only returns me a web page containing the parts of the project as "file://" links, seemingly implying they were local to _my_ machine if I attempted to download them, which clearly cannot be the case.
