Well,
to be able to run that proxy, the BSD culture needs linux compiled HIL library
:) (curently FreeBSD uses redhat7.2 binaries and APIs).

Of course, it is possible to patch the hil stuff to run it in "lpt" generic
mode on a bsd/dec machine. However it is a pain to link linux binary with
nativly compiled dynamic library. But if the proxy has no linux specific
code, it can be compiled on any unix-like box.

Another question - what magic words I have to say to connect gdb to proxy?
Is it juts
        target remote ...
or
        target msp430
?

cheers,
~d
