Has anyone tried installing the windows installer that includes the giveio device driver on NT4.0? I have some complaints that is doesn't
yes, does not work.
work, although it certainly works from some people. The error people get is "The procedure entry point QueryServiceConfig2A could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.DLL". I suspect these people are using a fresh install in NT, with no service packs. Iknow NT4.0 was shipped half finished (like a true Microsoft product), and a lot of stuff was added in the service packs. Is there soemthing about controlling services that falls in this category? Can it be worked around?
thats no because NT is halve finished and service packs do not help here neither. its simply a funtion that is not present in that version. it was added in Win2k. And guess what, the examples on M$DN are of course code that does not work with NT4....
however. i changed loaddrv.exe a while ago, so that it does no longer use that function. please use the exe in jtag\hardware_access\giveio. the separate giveio package already uses that and should not suffer of that problem.
