noticed the error of it already being there. I just wanted to suggest that the
installer ask the user if it's ok to overwrite the old cygwin.dll. In my case,
I have
nothing else that uses it, so it's fine. For me I'll just reinstall the
installer after
deleting all cygwin.dll's.

maybe just overwriting is the best. it's only writing to the mspgcc directories after all and not in some systemwide directory.

Any reason the compile time would be longer? Compiling the same project w/ the
030506
build, I get a compile in about 10 seconds. This build compiles in about 3
minutes. My
system is a 2.4G Pentium running Win2000 (fully updated).

i had verry slow build times with 1.5.6 and 1.5.7 (actualy the shell redirecton when using objdump to create a listing seems to be the root of the evil). the 1.5.6 versio even locked up sometimes, but that issue was fixed in 1.5.7. lets hope that the next version gets better again
thats the reason i downgraded my cygwin install on all my machines :-(

(I deleted the cygwin1.dll that was in the original toolset dir and
uninstall/reinstalled your installer to make it work).
Thanks and Thanks for the new build... Been waiting for a long time. My
company will
not open a port allowing CVS access, so I can't build it here w/o bringing it
from home.

Subject: [Mspgcc-users] ANN: updated win32 installer

after some delay, but with CVS snapshots from today...

i have uploaded a new Win32 installer for mspgcc containing
- binutils 040129 with f161x patch
- gcc 3.2.3 with Win9x patch, msp430-libc
- gdb 6.0, gdbproxy
- pdf docs
- examples
- bsl and jtag downloaders

insight is still missing, sorry

it's basicaly the same as the test release 12 days ago, but built against an older release (1.5.5) of cygwin (i had trouble wit the latest release, 1.5.7, on some machines). the two patches are new too and as it's fresh from CVS, it contains the fixes made until today.
