Jason glade to hear from you. Thanks for the reply. Any thoughts helps and gives me direction. Yes, still messing with ConfigMgr ☺ and had some hard time keep ConfigMgr alive here. Finally everyone realized what ConfigMgr can do compared to what they have been using.
I thought about IE security but if I directly go to ccmcache folder and launch hta application on Windows 2012 server, hta application opens up fine, so I ruled out IE security. Something is happening when hta is launched from Software Center on Windows 2012. I will keep digging logs in case I missed something. I would add some logging in the script of the HTA that tells you whether the HTA actually ran. That would determine whether it was getting completely blocked or if it is not presented because of interactive session issues. However, since it runs on the other OSes, I would think it is getting blocked. Is IE enhanced security enabled? You may have to create a local group policy (for the system account to apply) that modifies the IE security to enable the HTA to run. Sorry it’s not a direct answer and you probably have the above stuff on your radar to try, but I wanted an excuse to reply to you ☺ Jason Condo | Bennett Adelson<http://www.bennettadelson.com/> | Cleveland Region Principal Consultant – Systems Management & Operations (M) 234.380.9214 From: listsad...@lists.myitforum.com<mailto:listsad...@lists.myitforum.com> [mailto:listsad...@lists.myitforum.com] On Behalf Of Anand Upadhyay - Information Technology Sent: Wednesday, April 23, 2014 6:20 PM To: 'mssms@lists.myitforum.com' Subject: [mssms] Launching hta application from Software Center on Windows 2012 I have hta application which is available to users via Software Center (SCCM 2012 R2), so users can launch it as many time as they want with their user rights. Hta application open up fine and work on Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 but does not work on Windows 2012 server via Software Center. I can launch application from cache folder directly on Windows 2012 server and it opens up fine. It just does not want to work from Software Center. Can’t pinpoint where the issue is. Is it Windows 2012 (obviously because application work on other two OS) or IE (security zone not letting open hta application?) or is it Interactive service in Windows 2012 (application is launching but in system session and not in user session?)? Execmgr log does not show any failures every time I launch application from Software Center, so log is not helpful. Have you experienced issue like this before? Any thought or direction will be helpful.
