Finally everyone realized what ConfigMgr can do compared to what they have been using. I thought about IE security but if I directly go to ccmcache folder and launch hta application on Windows 2012 server, hta application opens up fine, so I ruled out IE security. Something is happening when hta is launched from Software Center on Windows 2012. I will keep digging logs in case I missed something. I would add some logging in the script of the HTA that tells you whether the HTA actually ran. That would determine whether it was getting completely blocked or if it is not presented because of interactive session issues. However, since it runs on the other OSes, I would think it is getting blocked. Is IE enhanced security enabled? You may have to create a local group policy (for the system account to apply) that modifies the IE security to enable the HTA to run. Is it Windows 2012 (obviously because application work on other two OS) or IE (security zone not letting open hta application?) or is it Interactive service in Windows 2012 (application is launching but in system session and not in user session?)? Execmgr log does not show any failures every time I launch application from Software Center, so log is not helpful. Have you experienced issue like this before?
