7,16 Mhz Contest

Ever wonder if your 7,16 Mhz MSX is really running on 7,16 Mhz? And what if
it isn't?
Would you want your money back after all those years?

We want to know: On what speed is your MSX running? How would you calculate
the
Z80 CPU speed.
To find out we'll have ourselves a nice little contest.

The prize:
Kudos, fame and glory!
The winner will get his/her code published in MWW #7.

The assignment:
Write an MSX-DOS program that calculates your current Z80 CPU speed...
1. as fast as possible
2. as accurate as possible
3. in as little memory as possible
4. as original as possible

You are allowed to use "external hardware" (like a Philips Music Module or a
Sunrise Moonsound cartridge)
to make use of high resolution timers, as long as the external hardware is:
a) an MSX cart;
b) the MSX cart is not a homebrew hardware project.
Note: You WILL get penalty points when using external hardware so make sure
that by doing so you get
bonuspoints for speed, accuracy and/or originality!
You can submit several programs if you want to.

Entries will be judged by MWW. MWW judges can submit entries
but can't judge their own programs.

Submissions
Every submission should contain:
1. name, age, gender, city, country
2. programming language used
3. a working .COM file
4. sourcecode in .txt format
5. a textfile with a description on how the CPU time is calculated

Send your entries to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Submit your entries before: 30 - 08 - 2006

Good luck!
