On msx.org  is stated that  Alex Koedoder has left MSX  Worldwide magazine.
Maybe that has got something to do with it.

Further more I believe that the contest yielded 0 entries because non of 
the judges received anything to judge. Most (theoretical) possibilities 
were discussed on MRC instead of in MSX-WW.
