I'm not 100% sure that the solution is acceptable for upstream, although I don't have an idea for a better solution. I hope you don't mind if I don't consider it at this time. I suggest that the patch goes through a review cycle on the git list after mingw.git is integrated (which I target for post-1.5.6). -- Hannes
