How about this: auto-detect if the thumb-drive is NTFS, and if it is, create hard links for the git-* executables, otherwise save space and force the user to use the git * syntax. Of course, this is all for a theoretical installer that someone will have to code. As a quick fix for now, we should offer users the option to *not* have the hard-links installed. - -- Edward Z.
