Having had 2 Trailstars and now a Switchback I can't recommend 'em highly
enough. The reason I had two Trailstars was 'cos I loved one, sold it for a
Marin Full Susser freeride thang (is freeride still a valid term in MTBing
these days), hated that and got another Trailstar. Had to sell it due lack
of fundage at uni. I reckon that a Trailstar with the saddle down feels like
its got 6 inches of rear travel anyhow - and I bunnyhopped over 34 ins on
it, on flatties!!!
Everyone should have one, although at 5'9" it came up a bit short for XC -
hence the Switchback.
Steel is real
Oh, I dislocated my shoulder rock climbing ast night so shall not be
attending any bicycle jaunts for 2-3 weeks. Jim'll dish the gory/girly
details ce soir.
Cheers,
Andy K

re on the scrounge....MaxJaffa, had a trailstar, originally bought for the
4x, but in the end got use for general trail duties, he loved it, bit heavy
but it was a nice frame... the rear disc mount was put on squint so he was
only ever able to run a v on the back.I saw the frame at WWW3 last year,
(cheviothillriders sticker still on it!!) the owner had cut and rewelded
the brake mount, he was loving it too!
Dont see too many 2nd hand ones though. For 200(ish) bit more for long
travel one, you get new one with guarantee!!

Hi Chris,
I sold that frame to by my compo, kinda wish I held on
to it. I was very in terested at a Pipedreams
prototype that was advertised on STW for around the
300 quid mark recently. I also like the Soda but it
silly money. Really want a steel or Ti frame again,
keep your eyes peeled for a cheap handjob or
trailstarr for me chaps.
Phil has kindly loaned me a gusset seatpost as I have
managed to break (in one form or another) two posts
within a space of a week :(
See you guys wed.
