Hi Christian, I try to help you with the installation packages (not about main problem) I'm using RH9, but it shouldn't matter. And AFAIK SuSe has better updaterManagement RPM tool (but I'm not experienced with it), so I'm using ported APT for RH (originally Debian tool) which solve dependencies to the required package and download and install others "million stupid" packages without any user's interaction and care about it. Good start point would be an brief article on fresmeat: http://freshmeat.net/articles/view/192/ And APT main page is here: http://apt4rpm.sourceforge.net/index.html There's various GUI Tools for APT (I've tried one, but it didn't go through proxy) : synaptic And there are still very cool search package pages where you could enter a package name (substring) or just a file (from searched package)Evolution is 1.4 and the system is SuSE 8.2. I can't compile the CVS snapshot, since Multisync needs about a million stupid packages. I started installing one by one but got stuck at gtk+2. What exactly ist the package name? I'm using those two: http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=gtk%2B2&submit=Search+... http://rpm.pbone.net/ Always look on internet through *rpmfind* or *rpmpbone* servicesI haven't found gtk+2 on the SuSE CDs and don't really know where to obtain it from as long as I don't know the exact package name. I hope that installation of any package or even a "million stupid" packages would be as easy as easy used to (and will) be syncing S55 with Evolution :-))) -daniel |
