Also, just to clear UR doubt about some one else firing an INSERT while UR INSERT statement is running, do this: In a string varialbe, create UR "INSERT" statement and concatenate it with "; SELECT @@IDENTITY". Then, fire this statement by giving it to the ExecuteScalar method of the command object. ExecuteScalar returns the value of the first column, which in this case will be the "ID" generated. FYI, U will have to convert the return value to an integer first. HTH.
