SP is definatetly faster than a script. it's pre-compiled query. Moreover to make u're query more fast you can also make index(s) on u're table and give it fill factor. 2. If after deploying an application( with connection string declared in the appconfig ) i want to change the database location, do i have to recompile my application? A. See if the database location on the script side in present only in the web.config then you do not can just change the database location to the new location in the web.config and recompiling is not needed. whereas if the database location is also present in any of your .vb or cs files then ofcourse u would have 2 recomplie application. 3. which event do i use to code for buttons on the toolbar? When i doubleclick on those buttons i donot get any Private Sub ... End Sub in the code behind? A. 1 reason 4 this might be that you have opened the rspective file not through the solution or that file does not have any code behind ..
