Ok, I am convinced. I would be perfectly happy if we had a way to check that an old Amazon link doesn't prevent a new one from displaying the image. But since I can't see any way just by looking at the URL to determine if the linked page is a standard or a user page, I guess we will have to rely on scripts to make lists of Releases with more than one Amazon link. Pretty easy to do.

This page http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00000C3Y6 has been there forever. I imagine just because the page was created by a seller, they still utilize it for others selling the album. It's not directly for that seller. Not like ebay which is per auction. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Frederic Da Vitoria Sent: Tuesday, May 30, 2006 4:02 AM To: MusicBrainz style discussion Subject: Re: [mb-style] RFV #2: Amazon Relationship Type 2006/5/30, Stefan Kestenholz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > I'm not so sure we should link to user-created pages if they disappear once > > the user's item has been bought. > > do they? In my example, the page is still there, but the owner sold the album in the last 2 weeks. There isn't any chance the seller will want to sell the same product again, so if I were Amazon, I'd remove the old pages from the web site once the album is sold. -- Frederic Da Vitoria
