I'm proposing to store FIRST publication date. I agree that same information could be stored by using relationships. We could add "first publication" attribute for publisher relationship. Most of the time only date is available on wikipages and websites (people just don't care about publishers). We would just end up having majority of relationships pointing to label [unknown]. When stored as work attribute this information is easily available and on artist's page (Works tab). It's easy to check which works are missing some attributes. It's also easy to add attributes when adding new works. It's not that common to have publisher-relationships for classical works. World's oldest publishing house Breitkopf & Härtel has published 15000 editions and MB currently has relationships for 5 of these. -- ListMyCDs / Timo Martikainen _______________________________________________ MusicBrainz-style mailing list [email protected] http://lists.musicbrainz.org/mailman/listinfo/musicbrainz-style
