Thanks for the reply. Nothing really, it seems, although I guess there may be something wrong there. I have log_level "verbose" in /etc/mpd.conf and am logging through syslog. This produces just the below bit, which is the same as my (working) MPD has always produced, without log_level "verbose". When I just now set log_file "/tmp/mpd.log" to test it that way, no /tmp/mpd.log file was created. To be sure, pre-creating it (with user.group mpd.mpd) also didn't help. Is something broken in current git with respect to logging or did I do something funny? I can't imagine what... (note: Avahi not running accounts for those messages, which are also produced by my fucntional "regular MPD instance", and other than the added database {} section and the above log_level and log_file, my /etc/mpd.conf is the default one).
