I will try and get together a list of requirements for what the python 
module should ultimately be able to do.

You are welcome to bug me re: expected results.  :-)

I think it would be useful to port some of the bash stuff to python, 
particularly mutopia-compile.sh which is a bit of a hacky mess at the 
moment.
