Sorry, I hit submit too quickly. For the first workaround, we'd probably
want to save the last_pos and last_cert, check skip_mode == 1, last_pos ==
pos, and then call compare_certificates(last_cert, cert).
I guess that isn't all that bad. I'll work on that today.
