Thanks for the reply.
I was in the index and I was in a limited view, the new message would not
have matched the limited view.
I have some conditional ~h colour specifications:
color index yellow default "(~x nemesis\.MYDOMAIN | ~h
\"^In-[Rr]eply-[Tt]o: .*nemesis\.MYDOMAIN\")"
color index brightyellow default "~N (~x nemesis\.MYDOMAIN | ~h
\"^In-[Rr]eply-[Tt]o: .*nemesis\.MYDOMAIN\")"
which highlights replies, bright if also unread.
