You are right, the problem does not appear when compiling from a fresh
copy. Really sorry for the noise, I should have tried before reporting.
(the thing is that before submitting the bug I tried to compile from a
clean clone from hg, but was unable to figure out how to call autoconf to
create the configure script. Finally, I succeed by running "autoreconf
--install --include=m4")
